STAT 344 Probability and Statistics for Engineers and Scientists I

Prerequisite: MATH 114.


Course Description: Introduction to probability and statistics with applications to computer science, engineering, operations research, and information technology. Basic concepts of probability, random variables and expectation, Poisson process, bivariate distributions, sums of independent random variables, correlation and least squares estimation, central limit theorem, sampling distributions, maximum likelihood and unbiased estimators, confidence interval construction, and hypothesis testing. f,s,sum
