STAT 530 Foundations of Statistical Thinking

Prerequisite: STAT 535, STAT 554, or equivalent.

Course Description: Provides a foundation in the key concepts underlying data analysis, statistics, and probability. Topics include research-based methods for developing statistical thinking, use of technology for learning about statistics, and structured learning activities. Statistical concepts include: distributions, measures of center and spread, sampling, sampling distributions, bivariate analysis, correlation, randomness, and law of large numbers.

Note: Cannot be used to satisfy requirements for MS in Statistical Science.
