STAT 663 Statistical Graphics and Data Exploration I

Prerequisite: A 300-level statistics course and a programming course, or permission of instructor. 

Course Description: Introduces statistical graphics that show distribution features and functional relationships in the presence of noise. Introduces cognitive research guidance for graphics design and reasoning. Stresses quantitative comparisons from multiple perspectives. Features new micromaps designs for spatial and temporal comparisons. Introduces R, the grammar of graphics, and dynamic graphics software.
