Brad Patterson Awarded Suneeth Nayak Graduate Scholarship


Picture_Brad_PattersonThe Department of Statistics is pleased to announce that R. Bradley Patterson, a PhD student in Statistical Science, has been awarded the prestigious IMC, Inc. Suneeth Nayak Graduate Scholarship. Brad is completing his doctoral dissertation under the direction of Professor John Miller.

The scholarship is sponsored by an endowment at the Volgenau School of Engineering and was created in memory of Suneeth Sanjeeva Nayak, who died at age 38 from Hodgkin’s disease. He graduated from George Mason with an M.S. in Computer Science in 1994 and received the Outstanding Alumnus Award for Technical Management from the Volgenau School in 2001.
