Lightning Talks
Lightning Talks are short, focused presentations that showcase key ideas, research highlights, or emerging questions within a single session. Unlike traditional seminars that explore one topic in depth, these talks emphasize clarity, brevity, and accessibility, encouraging speakers to distill their work into its most compelling insights. Each presentation may highlight a single problem, case study, or novel methodology designed to spark curiosity and discussion. Because multiple speakers present in succession, attendees gain rapid exposure to a wide range of projects, methods, and perspectives in a compact format.
Lightning Talks bring together faculty, researchers, and students to share high-impact ideas, foster cross-disciplinary connections, and showcase the breadth of the department’s expertise. This seminar format stimulates collaboration and provides a dynamic platform for exploring intersections across diverse areas of statistical research.
