Mu Sigma Rho

About

Mu Sigma Rho was founded in 1968 at Iowa State University, also the first school to house a statistical laboratory established by the well-known statistician George W. Snedecor in 1934. The society's main goals are the promotion and encouragement of scholarly activities in statistics, the recognition of exceptional achievements among the students and faculty in eligible academic institutions, and the advancement and reinforcement of intellectual accomplishments in the field. Its endeavors include outreach and professional services. The society-sponsored events are designed to involve undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and professional statisticians.

"We consider it a privilege to be a chapter of such a selective and exclusive academic society and a resounding testament to our industrious students and dedicated faculty members. We intend to work as vigorously as we can to make our chapter a truly exemplary one," said Dr. Ilhan M. Izmirli.
