Statistics Faculty

William Rosenberger, distinguished university professor in Mason's Statistics Department, has been named the 41st Fisher Memorial Lecturer.

The Department of Statistics Associate Chair of Research, John Stufken, comes to George Mason University with plenty of experience in statistics and directing programs. One of his main roles will be leveraging his knowledge and career to help newer statistics professors at Mason with their own career success.

At the 2023 Joint Statistics Meeting, one of the largest statistics events in the world, George Mason’s statistics department teamed up with Georgetown’s data science department and George Washington’s statistics department to co-host the first Georges Reception. Students, alumni, faculty, and friends gathered to network with fellow DC area locals.

As one of the newest and youngest professors to join the Department of Statistics, Nicholas Rios brings a passion for teaching and learning as much from his students as they learn from him.

Research Interests: Network modeling, high-dimensional statistics, spatio-temporal models, unsupervised learning (change point detection, clustering), random forest.

Research Interests: Functional data analysis, computational statistics, Gaussian process modeling, models for compositional data analysis.

Research Interests: Orthogonal arrays, crossover designs, optimal design of experiments, and subdata selection methods.
